Jarden Partners with Mawal to Advance Indigenous Leadership in Corporate Australia

Jarden has announced a partnership with Mawal, committing to sponsor five scholarships in the Mawal Leadership Program.

Founded by Brad Welsh- the first Aboriginal CEO and Managing Director of an ASX-listed company - the Mawal Leadership Program is designed to equip Indigenous Australians with the skills to secure senior corporate roles with material financial and commercial accountability.

"At Jarden, we believe diverse leadership strengthens organisations and creates better outcomes," said Sarah Rennie, Co-CEO of Jarden. "Partnering with Mawal allows us to contribute meaningfully to closing the representation gap in corporate Australia while supporting emerging leaders who will shape the future of business."

Brad Welsh, Founder of Mawal, welcomed the partnership: "For a culture to thrive, it must be able to manage capital and risk which is what our people have done for 65,000 years. Mawal is preparing Indigenous Australians to do exactly that -- lead the balance sheet not just NAIDOC week celebrations. Jarden's commitment as a founding partner demonstrates genuine leadership in advancing Indigenous representation in corporate Australia."

Jarden's partnership extends beyond financial support. The firm will provide executive mentorship, with Jarden leaders committing 1-4 hours monthly to program participants and facilitate network access to the firm's leadership team and business networks.

The program launches in January 2026, with applications open now. For more information about the Mawal Leadership Program, visit www.mawal.com.au.
